Occupation: I am a construction administrator/manager for an architectural
interior design firm. We do airport renovation work. I am working at Kennedy
Airport where I have been in every building except TWA.
How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 20 years. Prior to that I
lived in Stamford. I was born and brought up in Queens, N.Y.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: A multitude of families with a thousand kids. The
number of kids has doubled in Babe Ruth. We have over a thousand kids, from
age 6 to 16, and 65 teams and growing steadily.
Family: My wife, Margaret, and I have been married for 23 years. We have three
teenage boys, Frankie, 18, who graduated in 1998 from Newtown High, Tony, 16,
who is a junior, and Ted, 13, an eighth grader at the middle school.
Pets: We have two dogs, Augie-Doggie and Kodiak, and three cats, Cosmo, Elmo
and Fuzz Ball.
Hobbies: I like to watch sports on TV, including the classic sports station,
which I really enjoy. I also like to listen to them on the radio. I also like
to listen to classic rock 'n roll music, especially the Beatles.
Organizations: Babe Ruth baseball, my second job. I've completed my 13th year
coaching. I've coached every division, every age bracket. I'm up with the
teens now. I was president of the league for two years and am now division
director for the 13 to 15 age group as well as still coaching. I've also
worked with All Star tournament teams. Newtown is going to host the district
tournament this year for the 15-year-old division.
Favorite Vacation Spot: We go to Cape Cod every other year or so. It's one of
our favorite hangouts.
Philosophy: Work hard, play fair, have fun. That's what we try to teach the
kids.
