A Magical Musical From The Mists Of Scotland

(with photos)

The Newtown High School Choral/Drama Department is presenting Lerner and

Lowe's Brigadoon this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 7-9.

Show times are Thursday, 7:30 pm, Friday, 8 pm, and Saturday, 2 pm and 8 pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and will be available at the

door.

Brigadoon is the story of two American hunters lost in the wilderness of

Scotland. As they begin to lose hope, they discover an uncharted village in

the mists.

Directed by Ann Doyle, accompanied with live music (directed by Jim Dumas),

this year's musical promises to be a real crowd-pleaser.

With a cast and crew of more than 100, the stage is brought to life with the

flair of Scottish music and dancing with choreography by Lisa Mazzariello.

Technical director Tom Swetts and stage manager Rachel Walker have outdone

themselves with Broadway quality sets, all built by students in the school.

Brigadoon is a production not to be forgotten. You won't want to miss the

heart-stopping sound of the bagpipes played by 15-year-old Terry McGovern.

The top caliber cast includes Ryan Braun, Nick DeLuca, Phil Demand, Erin

Dudley, James Dunseith, Matt Fevreau, Travis Finlayson, Heather Gunn, Simon

Hood, Ryan Lopes, Emily Marron, Katie Mooney, Tracy Mulholland, Tucker Reed,

Mary Kate Rod, Becca Roodhuyzen, Grant Skinner, Craig Schoembaum and Steve

Dukenski.

DiPerrio, Erin Dudley, Heather Gunn, Katie Hayes, Kyle Jones, David

Kremenitzer, Kate MacKnight, Emily Marron, Michele Pratt, Rafel Sgammato,
