Occupation: Office manager at Edmond Town Hall for the Board of Managers. I've

been here nine years. My favorite part of my job is helping people when they

want to rent parts of town hall for a particular event. That's the best part.

I feel anybody can do paperwork, but I think when you have to help people and

deal with people, you have to be sincere about it.

Family: I'm married, to Bob; I've been married 29 years to the same person. We

have two daughters - a daughter in Atlanta, Julie, who is a physical therapist

in a hospital there; Jennifer is a dietician in Washington, N.C. Jennifer was

recently married to our very nice son-in-law, Jay, a park ranger for Goose

Creek State Park in Washington, N.C.

Pets: We do have a cat; one cat at the present but we've been know to have

more. She's a calico cat named Friday, born at Hollandia Nursery. She wasn't

born on Friday; the girls just named her that. They probably should have named

her after a flower or plant. She is extremely spoiled.

Biggest change in Newtown: I see a lot of faces I don't know, and I see a lot

of roads that I don't know. In other words, the town has grown since I came

here. I used to go to Grand Union to shop and you couldn't get out of there

because you would see so many people you knew. Now shopping [is faster]

because I don't see as many people I know [well].

Organizations: When my girls were young, I did all the volunteer things - kid

related. I was in Welcome Wagon, PTA, Girl Scouts, St Rose Religious

Education, Newtown Junior Women's Club for 9« years - I was a charter member,

and Band Parents. But then I wasn't working full time. I loved my Girl Scout

Troop - I had the troop from the fourth grade to eighth grade. We did so many

interesting trips, and went camping. My husband went along, and families went.

It was a nice "friendship" thing. So I think I did it all along the way and I

enjoyed that

Hobbies: I don't have any. I used to do all the "normal" things like crafts,

knitting, crocheting. I love flowers and I used to plant a garden, but I don't

now. I like to vacation and I like to go for rides with my husband on the

weekends in our convertible. I really enjoy doing that. We like to explore

Connecticut; there's so much in people's own backyards. We take a ride and

stop and have lunch. My favorite is to be near the river. I like to watch

sports - we watch everything imaginable. You know what I'll be watching this

week - the Yankees. My favorite is basketball. Football, if you're watching it

outside, it's cold, and baseball doesn't move fast enough. But the Yankees are

my favorite.

Favorite kind of book: I like mysteries. When I go on vacation I like to take

a stack of mysteries.

Favorite food: My favorite kind of food is Italian - I love Italian food.

Personal philosophy: I think that you should start each day and end each day

with a prayer and a smile, and just be thankful for who you are and what you

are. And live by the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do

unto you. That's how I live my life.
