Lost Engagement Ring Turns Up In Time For Valentine's Day
(with photo)
Valentine's Day will be a bit sweeter for Marcia Reinhard this year after
finding her missing diamond engagement ring.
The precious ring was never actually lost. Mrs Reinhard had simply taken if
off and forgotten where she had left it. But for 24 hours, the missing ring
left the Newtown resident with a broken heart.
"I was heartbroken. I cried for an entire day," she said. "I decided that the
only place I could have left it was in the bathroom at Starbucks. I figured I
had taken the ring off when I washed my hands, then walked out without it. I
created a memory."
Desperate to find her ring, Mrs Reinhard took out an ad in last week's Bee
classifieds. It read: "LOST DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING - possibly near Starbucks
& The Wiz, Federal Rd. Brookfield -Heartbroken."
A few hours after taking out the ad, Mrs Reinhard found the ring on her
children's "Little Tykes" table. When she found the ring, Mrs Reinhard called
her husband of 13 years, Mike, to inform him of the good news.
"He said `Get a sitter, we're going out to dinner,'" she recalled.
Mrs Reinhard said a friend had suggested she pray to St Anthony, the patron
saint of lost items. Reluctantly, she agreed, despite that she is Jewish. Mrs
Reinhard's prayers were answered, and just in time for Valentine's Day.
