Head O'Meadow Subdivision Withdrawn
The applicant for a two-lot residential resubdivision of land on Head O'Meadow
Road and Kent Road has withdrawn his application.
Joseph Scherpf wants to resubdivide Lot 6 of the Valley View subdivision into
two lots. The 5.9-acre parcel would be divided into 3.1-acre and 2.8-acre
building lots. Mr Scherpf wants to build two single-family houses.
In a letter to the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z), Town Sanitarian
Martha Wright did not endorse the resubdivision because all requirements
pertaining to septic systems were not met by the developer.
At a February 6 P&Z public hearing, commission chairman John DeFilippe said
the sanitarian decision not accepting the plans poses a major problem for the
application.
It has always been the P&Z's policy to have the sanitarian's approval for
resubdivision plans before P&Z acts on those plans, he said.
Following a discussion with P&Z members, Mr Scherpf withdrew the application.
Head O'Meadow Road residents interested in the specifics of the application
attended the February 6 session to review the proposed resubdivision.
When revised resubdivision plans are submitted, a public hearing on the
proposal will be advertised. Abutting property owners will be notified by
mail.
