Geckles Tapped As Hospital Campaign Chairmen
(with photo)
Kathy and Robert Geckle of Poverty Hollow Road have been named co-chairmen of
the Newtown Committee for Danbury Hospital's "Today for Tomorrow" capital
campaign.
The committee plans to hold informational get-togethers with Newtown residents
to create awareness of the $15 million fundraising campaign and to generate
the support of the community.
At a meeting held recently at the Geckles' home, Gerard Robilotti, executive
vice president of Danbury Hospital and Danbury Health Systems, provided a
brief overview of the campaign which is funding renovations of the hospital's
emergency department and construction of a new ambulatory (one-day) surgery
unit. Other members of the committee who attended the meeting included Mr and
Mrs John Creasy and Dr and Mrs Paul Iannini.
Newtown residents who are interested in learning more about the "Today for
Tomorrow" campaign may call the Danbury Hospital Development Fund at 731-8088
or Mr and Mrs Geckle at 426-3894.
