Victoria Bellavita

Victoria Bellavita, 37, of Sunrise, Fla., formerly of Southbury, died

September 13, in the Pembroke Pines Memorial Hospital, Pembroke, Fla.

She was born in Bridgeport September 5, 1958, daughter of Ernest Bellavita of

Bridgeport and Patricia Davis Bellavita of Sunrise, Fla.

She had lived in Florida for the past several years.

She is survived, besides her parents by two sons, Jeffrey Paplowski and Justin

Paplowski; a brother, Robert Bellavita of Sunrise, Fla.; a sister, Sandra Gill

of Newtown; and a grandmother Ann Davis of Newtown.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, at 9:15 am from the Honan

Funeral Home to A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church in

Southbury. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, September 17, from 7 to 9 pm at the Funeral Home.

M. Allen Reynolds

M. Allen Reynolds, 75, formerly of Newtown, died September 13, at his home in

Vails Grove, Brewster, N.Y. He was the husband of Elma Decker Reynolds.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., August 14, 1920, he was a son of Marion and Barbara

Brothwell Reynolds. He graduated from Binghamton schools; completed a

toolmaker's apprenticeship at the Bridgeport Brass Company; and later

graduated cum laude from the University of Bridgeport, specializing in

mechanical engineering.

A veteran of WWII, he served as a machinist's mate with the US Navy in San

Pedro, San Diego, and Santa Barbara, Calif.

He moved to Brewster ten years ago after living in Newtown for 19 years. He

previously lived in Fairfield.

Mr Reynolds was employed as a quality control engineer at Perkin-Elmer

Corporation in Norwalk for 27 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the Nutmeg Association (gliders club), North Salem Seniors,

and Westchester Ice Boating Club, and a life member of the Danbury Hospital

Auxiliary. He was a volunteer for many years in the hospital coffee shop.

Mr Reynolds also was a member of the board of directors of Vails Grove, in

charge of water systems. He was a Boy Scout leader in Fairfield, and a past

Rotarian in Newtown.

For 55 years, he was a member of the United Congregational Church in

Bridgeport.

Besides his wife of nearly 54 years, he is survived by two sons, David

Reynolds of Hungry Horse, Mont., and William Reynolds of Issaquah, Wash.; a

daughter, Linda VanScoy of North Salem, N.Y.; a brother, Freeman Reynolds of

Farmington; a sister, Eleanor Payne of Binghamton, N.Y.; five grandchildren;

three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the United Church Music Fund, 877

Park Avenue, Brideport 06604; or to Hospice of Northern Westchester and

Putnam, 43 Kensico Drive, Mount Kisco, NY 10549.

There are no calling hours.

Services will be held Saturday, September 16, at 10:30 am, in St James

Episcopal Church, North Salem, N.Y., with the Reverend Susie Post officiating.

Burial services will be private.

Beecher Funeral Home, Brewster, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.

Janet McCullough

Janet L. McCullough, 61, mother of James McCullough of Newtown, died September

12, at Northern Westchester Hospital. She was the wife of William McCullough

of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.

Born in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Lyle Snyder and Caroline

Jirack Snyder. She attended New York City public schools. She moved to

Yorktown in 1958 from the Bronx.

She was a member of the Yorktown Presbyterian Church.

Besides her son, and husband of 40 years, she is survived by her mother,

Caroline Snyder of Yorktown Heights; one daughter, Deborah Canter of

Harrisonburg, Va.; two other sons, Wayne McCullough of Macedon, N.Y., and

Keith McCullough of Brookfield.

Prayer service will be held, Friday, September 15, at 8 pm, in the Clark

Funeral Home, 2104 Saw Mill River Road, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
