Republicans Select A Town Committee
The Newtown Republicans conducted a caucus Monday night to elect members to
the party's town committee.
Those voted to head the GOP for the next two years were: Stephen Adams, A.
Winthrop Ballard, Karen Blawie, Joseph Borst, James Boylan, William Brimmer,
Andrew Buzzi, Michele Buzzi, Robert Cascella, Dennis Conetta, Margaret Daley,
Thomas Goosman, Robert H. Hall, Suzanne Hard, Thomas Kolf, John Kortze, Tara
Kortze, Edward Lucas, Carol Mattegat, Eleanor Mayer, Elaine McClure, Russell
Melita, William Meyer, James M. Mooney, Barbara O'Connor, James Reilly, David
Rizzardi, Pierre Rochman, John Ryan, Mae Schmidle, Cynthia Curtis Simon,
Richard Simon, James Smith, K. Michael Snyder, Joseph Steinfeld, Lillian
Strickler, Marie Sturdevant and Edward Wencek.
The Republican Town Committee is comprised of a minimum of 35 members with a
maximum of 50, according to Marie Sturdevant, its chairman. Regular members
are asked to appoint an alternate to represent them in their absence.
The town committee meets the second Monday of each month in the Edmond Town
