Two More Residential Developments Get Wetlands Approval

In the ongoing local home building boom, two development groups have received

wetland construction approvals from the Conservation Commission for two

projects that would create a total of 57 new residential lots at opposite ends

of town.

Commission members have approved wetland construction plans from Cavilere &

Sons of Newtown for the proposed residential development known as "Camelot,"

consisting of 44 lots on 115 acres. The land, known as the Zingaro property,

lies northwest of the intersection of Hattertown Road and Purdy Station Road.

The application involves wetlands construction on about 1,300 square feet of

land.

The names of the roads in the proposed development are themed to King Arthur

and The Knights of The Round Table, with one road known as Arthur's Court and

another called Merlin's Lane.

In another approval, commission members endorsed a wetlands construction

proposal from M&M Development of Newtown for a residential subdivision known

as Butterfield Woods.

The developers want to create 13 residential lots on 40 acres at Butterfield

Road and Georges Hill Road.

Besides Conservation Commission approvals, developers are required to obtain

road work agreements from the selectmen and subdivision approvals from the

Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z), among other approvals, before they can

start construction.

P&Z review of the development proposals is expected in the coming weeks.
