Works By A. Hale Johnson At Wm Baczek

w/ cut

NORTHAMPTON, MASS. -- Wm Baczek Fine Arts Gallery and Framing will host a solo

exhibit of oil paintings by A. Hale Johnson through Saturday, March 28.

The exhibit marks the first time the entire gallery space has been given to a

single artist, and the first time the painter will have a solo exhibition in

Northampton. Johnson has been featured prominently in past exhibits at the

gallery and has had more than 40 one-man shows, but this is the first time

over two dozen of his paintings will be hung together locally.

A native of New Jersey, Johnson now lives with his wife in Colrain. He

attended Lafayette College and the Newark School of Fine Art in New Jersey. He

has been painting professionally for over 30 years.

The artist portrays a startling degree of detail in his paintings of time-worn

farms, coastal Maine seascapes and New England landscapes. His trademark skies

convey both motion and emotion.

The gallery is at 229 Main Street. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12:30

to 5 pm; Thursday until 8:30.
