Education Connection Honors Rosenthal

Education Connection, one of six of Connecticut's six regional educational

service centers, recently honored the president of its board of directors,

Herb Rosenthal of Newtown. Mr Rosenthal is also chairman of Newtown's Board of

Education.

The honorary award, given at the center's February 5 Reward and Recognition

Reception at the Litchfield Inn, cited Mr Rosenthal's dedication and loyalty

to the mission of Education Connection: to promote the success of school

districts and their communities. The regional educational service center

serves 31 school districts in western Connecticut.

Tony Sebastiano, regional director for Education Connection, stated Mr

Rosenthal richly deserved the recognition by his group.

"Herb Rosenthal stands above the rest," Mr Sebastiano said.

Mr Rosenthal said the award came as a complete surprise to him.

"It was very nice that it came from the people who work there and put in a lot

of work on a daily basis." He noted that boards of education throughout the

region are truly appreciative of the work that they do.

Mr Rosenthal has been a member of the Education Connection board for nearly 13

years. He has been chairman of the board the past nine years.
