Occupation: I am the owner of the Red Brick Coffeehouse, one of Newtown's best
kept secrets. As I come from an Italian family, one where our intimate
conversations and passionate discussions revolved around food, I try to
recreate that atmosphere, with all its coziness and homestyle cooking, here.
Family: My husband Vincent and I have three daughters: Laura, Jennifer, and
Vanessa. We all work at various times at the restaurant because it gives us
the chance to be together.
Pets: I love animals. They are the only ones whose love is not based on
conditions. I have three goldfish whom I adore for their grace of movement and
their vivid colors. I also have a gray cat, Sylvester, and a black cat,
Mercedes, the only Mercedes I'll ever have, I'm afraid.
Biggest Change in Town: There are so many new people in town. I am always
seeing new faces and meeting happy, friendly people.
Hobbies: I enjoy theater and music. Whether it's local or in the city, I
appreciate a live performance, and there is no one type of music I can claim
as a favorite.
Movies: Thelma and Louise is one of my favorites because it shows the
tremendous power of women. Here we have two women, bogged down by life and
social station, growing through difficult times by nurturing and supporting
each other. As death is so final, I had difficulty accepting the ending, but I
can understand the rationale for it. Freedom or Die.
Personal philosophy: We forget to breathe deeply, to stretch, and to dream. We
all need to take a moment to do that and to connect with other people.
