Habitat For Humanity Slates Info Meeting For Prospective Homeowners

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity will conduct an informational meeting for

prospective homeowners on Saturday, June 7, at 10 am in the old courtroom at

Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

The group will be selecting a family for one of the two affordable homes it

will be building on Philo Curtis Road in Sandy Hook.

At the session, the criteria for family selection will be provided, as well as

information on the application process.

Habitat is seeking people who have either lived or worked in Newtown for at

least one year.

Under income guidelines, a family of four would need to have an annual family

income of between $20,000 and $37,000 to be eligible.

Houses are sold to families at no profit. The owners pay off the houses across

20 years with a no-interest mortgage.
