Head O' Meadow's Birthday Bash
(with many photos)
It has been 20 years since Head O' Meadow School first opened its doors to
students along scenic Boggs Hill Road. To celebrate, parents and staff threw a
memorable birthday bash last Saturday.
On the guest list were students past, present and future. Spotted in the crowd
were many older students -- alumni who had returned to their old stomping
grounds to visit with teachers and friends.
Hundreds from the Head O' Meadow School family showed up for the fair-like
event, which featured dozens of games, make-your-own-crafts, a giant slide,
the ever-popular moon bounce and rides by Pepper the pony. There were snow
cones, fresh cotton candy, baked goodies and penny candy. The outdoor grills
were sizzling all day with hamburgers, chili dogs, sausage and peppers.
HOM Principal Bill Bircher, teachers and other school staff members worked the
crowd or labored behind the scenes, providing tons of fun and food.
The Diamond Spurs country western band from Sandy Hook added to the festive
atmosphere with their down-home, foot-stompin' tunes.
