Hearing Continued On Hemlock Hills
In light of a nearby property owner's environmental concerns, the Planning and
Zoning Commission (P&Z) has continued a public hearing on the Hemlock Hills
development proposal, consisting of four lots on 32 acres, near Winesap Road
and Rockywood Drive in Sandy Hook.
Joseph Dewhirst, and others, are the applicants for the Hemlock Hills
subdivision.
P&Z Chairman John DeFilippe read a letter about the development proposal from
nearby property owner Charles Munster at a November 21 hearing.
In the letter, Mr Munster wrote that his property had been adversely affected
by development in the area. Problems include high water runoff rates which
resulted in his driveway washing out, he wrote. After it was repaired, the
driveway washed away a second time, he added.
Mr Munster wrote that he found water in his stone foundation and has been
subjected to erosion problems. He asked the P&Z to investigate his
development-related problems.
P&Z members will continue the public hearing on Hemlock Hills on December 19.
