Jeremiah Road Fight Sparks Arrests

Police charged two men with criminal offenses on the night of October 24

following an altercation outdoors at 76 Jeremiah Road in Sandy Hook.

Police said they responded about 7 pm to a report of a fight between two men.

While en route to the address, police said they heard that one of the two men

was brandishing a machete and attempting to strike the other man with it.

When they arrived at the scene, police said they saw the two men fighting but

did not see a weapon.

Each of the two men live in separate apartments at the address, police said.

The men apparently had begun arguing over garbage removal, according to

police.

The incident ended when Edward C. Pray, 46, attempted to attack Raul A.

Andino, 39, with a 20-inch long machete, police said.

Pray bit Andino on the face and hand, and also damaged Andino's automobile,

police said.

Police charged Pray with third-degree assault, second-degree criminal

mischief, threatening, and reckless endangerment. He was released on a $1,000

bond for an appearance November 5 in Danbury Superior Court.

Police charged Andino with breach of the peace, releasing him on a written

promise to appear in court November 6.
