Occupation: I am, what did they call it the other night?, a household engineer
and mother. I have a technology background. I have done web page design and
specialized training for clients. I have been employed by my husband's
business as a freelance consultant, doing consulting and training. I also
worked full-time for two years with MasterCard, where I ran its Global
Performance Technology Services, which included training and skills
enhancement and computer training in tandem with human resources. During that
time, I traveled to several countries.
How Long Been in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 11« years. We're
previously from New Jersey.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: The residential growth in town, traffic, and new
commercial areas. Despite all the changes, the image of the town as a nice
town and a good place to live has not diminished.
Family: My husband, Neil, and I have been married for 14 years. We have a
daughter, Rebecca, who will be 3 in March.
Pets: We have two pets: a dog, Remington, and a cat, CC.
Hobbies: I like to read, listen to music and do crafts. I also ski, walk,
exercise, and have begun to garden. I love puzzles, such as crossword and
wooden ones. I like to figure things out.
Favorite author: I read a lot of different things. I particularly like
suspense and mystery novels. My favorite authors are Len Deighton, Robert
Ludlam and John Grishom.
Favorite TV shows: I like Law & Order, Homicide, and Nash Bridges. Also the
home and garden and financial channels. I like to follow what's happening
financially all over the world.
Organizations: I have wanted for several years to get civicly involved. I am
the president of the Friends of the Booth Library, and a member of the Newtown
Choral Society, Newtown Tree Lighting Committee, and the Danbury Area Computer
Society. I am a former member and vice president of the Newtown Chamber of
Commerce, former member and president of the Entrepreneurial Women's Network
in Westport and serve now on its past presidents council.
Philosophy: My personal philosophy has changed a lot over time. My philosophy
is to focus on reaching out to other people. When you do that, the benefits to
you as an individual are multi-fold. Family and friends are important.
