Drug Charges Against Newtown Teens Are Dropped
Drug possession charges which were pending against three local teenagers have
been dropped in court.
At January 6 court appearances in Danbury Superior Court, a judge nolled
charges of possession of less than four ounces of marijuana against Colin
Sheehan, 17, of Clearview Drive; Glen Harzewski, 17, of Surrey Trail; and
Brett Barker, 17, of Mountain Laurel Lane. The judge also nolled a charge of
failure to carry a driver's license against Sheehan.
The charges stemmed from a December 17 incident on Hemlock Road.
Police also lodged the drug charge against an unnamed 15-year-old juvenile in
connection with the incident. But court records involving juveniles are
sealed, so it is unclear what happened in that case.
