Rotary Student Of The Month [Keegan Finlayson]

Newtown High School student Keegan Finlayson was recently selected as the

Newtown Rotary Club's student of the month. He was nominated by the school's

biology department.

Biology teacher Marion Newbold presented the award.

"Every once in a while a teacher has an opportunity to work with a special

person, one who brings to their discipline a desire to learn, but also an

expansion of their mind and heart. When you have a student like Keegan, you

know why you are a teacher," she said.

Keegan called the award a true honor.

"I loved the subject, and my interest flamed by the enthusiasm shown by my

teachers. They allowed me to look forward to school each day, and I thank them

for their constant dedication and support," he said.
