OBITS (WRABEL; SMITH; BATT; FERRY; LEDOUX)

MADELINE T. WRABEL

Madeline T. Wrabel, 72, sister of Lillian M. Morris of Newtown, died November

13 in the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home, Stratford, after a brave battle with

cancer.

She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of John and Lillian Wrabel, and was a

lifelong resident of Fairfield. She worked at Hansen's Florist in Fairfield

for over 40 years.

She was a member of St Thomas Ladies Guild.

Besides her sister, Lillian, and brother-in-law, Robert Morris, she is

survived by a brother, John F. Wrabel of Fairfield; a sister, Marie S. Peck of

Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Marion Wrabel of Fairfield, several nieces and

nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles J. Wrabel; brother-in-law Franklin

L. Peck, and a nephew, Roger F. Peck.

Funeral services were November 17 at the Shaughnessey Funeral Home, 50 Reef

Road, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St Thomas Aquinas Church.

Interment will be private.

MADELINE SMITH

Madeline Smith, 86, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Friday, November

14, in Newtown.

Mrs Smith, who made her home with her daughter, Barbara Carroll of 12 Ox

Drive, Brookfield, was the wife of the late Harold J. Smith.

Born in Paterson, N.J., September 22, 1909, she was the daughter of William

and Henrietta Wuerth Fluegel. She was educated in Paterson and lived most of

her life in North Maledon, N.J.

Mrs Smith moved to Fort Myers, Fla., upon her husband's retirement, and then

to St Louis, Mo., and in 1990, to Brookfield.

She had been employed as an LPN for the North Jersey Training School. She was

a member of the Senior Center in Brookfield.

Besides her daughter, she is survived by 10 grandchildren; 16

great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by

her son, Henry H. Smith, and daughter, Madeline Muelheims.

Services were November 17 at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street,

Danbury. Burial took place in Laurel Grove Cemetery.

ASHLEY MEGAN BATT

Ashley Megan Batt, 14 months old, daughter of David and Julie Fowler Batt of

West Roxbury, Mass., died November 12 in her home.

Ashley is the granddaughter of Donald and Linda Batt of Rensselaer Falls,

N.Y., and George and Sharyn Cornut Fowler of Rocky Hill, N.J.,

great-granddaughter of Charles and Shirley Cornut of Monroe and George and

Catherine Fowler of Sabinsville, Penna. She is survived by two uncles and two

aunts.

Funeral services were November 16 in the Monroe United Methodist Church with

Rev Karen Burger, pastor, and Rev Frank Denton, former pastor, officiating.

Interment was in Stepney Village Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 375 Longwood

Avenue, Boston, Mass. 02215-5347.

The Redgate, Wilmot, West and Goulding Funeral Home, Monroe, was in charge of

arrangements.

R. NORMAN FERRY

R. Norman Ferry of 45 Woodside Avenue, Danbury, father of Ronald C. Ferry of

Newtown, died November 12 at his home.

He was the husband of Loretta M. Young Ferry.

Mr Ferry was born in Danbury, May 20, 1929, a son of Clarke and Marcella

Richardson Ferry. He was reared and educated in Danbury, and he remained a

lifelong resident.

A welder, he worked for 36 years for the Gilbert and Bennett Wire Mill in

Georgetown until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Baptist Church

in Danbury, and he enjoyed spending summers at his cottage at Lake George,

N.Y.

Besides his wife and son, he is survived by sons Ryan A. Ferry of Waterbury

and Russell J. Ferry of Danbury; a brother, Wilbert L. Ferry of New Milford

and Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were November 17 at Cornell Funeral Home in Danbury with The Rev Dr

David W. Reinhardt, pastor of the Baptist Church of Danbury, officiating.

Burial was in Central Cemetery, Brookfield.

ANNE MOTTE LEDOUX

Anne Motte Ledoux, 83, of Waterbury, wife of the late Armand J. Ledoux, died

on November 18 in the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility, Stratford.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., the daughter of Conrad and Annie McLauflin Motte,

Mrs Ledoux had been a Waterbury resident for 10 years and had formerly resided

in Trumbull and Fairfield.

She was pre-deceased by a son, William D. Ledoux of Sandy Hook.

Survivors include three sons, Armand J. Ledoux of Arizona, Robert C. Ledoux of

Fairfield, and Kenneth A. Ledoux of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 2

great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 22, at 11 am in Sacred Heart

Church, Woonsocket, R.I., with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will

follow in Saint Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, R.I.

Friends may call on Friday, November 21, from 4 to 8 pm, and Saturday, from 9

to 10 am, in the Linton Funeral Home, 185 Spring Street, Woonsocket, R.I.
