Margaret M. Prorock
Margaret Mary Prorock, 76, of Danbury, the mother of Joseph P. Prorock Jr of
Newtown, died Wednesday at Danbury Hospital.
She was the wife of Joseph P. Prorock.
Mrs Prorock was born in Peckville, Penna., on February 19, 1919, a daughter of
Peter and Ludmilla Simnonik Kurcin. She attended Peckville schools.
She was a former switchboard assembler for the Western Electric Company of
Kearney, N.J., before moving to Danbury in 1949.
Mrs Prorock was a member of the Polish American Citizens' Ladies Auxiliary,
the American Association of Retired Persons and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
in Danbury.
In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by a daughter, Carol A.
Kearns of Litchfield; two brothers, Andrew Kurcin and Frank Kurcin, both of
Pennsylvania; two sisters, Lillian Kurcin of Pennsylvania and Ann Wagner of
New Jersey, and four grandchildren.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Danbury Hospital Development
Fund for Hematology Research, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury 06810.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, October 6,
at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
The funeral service will be held Saturday from the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home at
9:15 am to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.
