OBITS (Los; Rivers; Leavitt)
Charlotte Los
Charlotte Hoving Los, 84, formerly of Newtown, died June 29. She was the wife
of Walter Los, of Mission Viejo, Calif.
Mrs Los was a fourth-grade school teacher in the Newtown school system for 20
years until her retirement.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, David, Jonathan and
Alexander, all of Mission Viejo; three grandchildren, Michael and Christopher
Los and Wendy Capper and a great-granddaughter Ashlynn Capper, all also of
Mission Viejo.

Josephine Rivers
Josephine Musone Rivers, 83, mother of Mary Louise Dubee of Newtown, died July
12 in Mediplex of Southbury.
Mrs Rivers was the wife of the late Alden A. Rivers. She was born in
Bridgeport and a lifelong area resident.
Mrs Rivers was a retired bookkeeper for Madison Motors.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, Alden A. Rivers Jr of
Southbury; a sister-in-law, Clara Musone of Bridgeport; three grandchildren,
Timothy Patrick Dubee, Kathleen Mary Braatz and Jeffrey Alden Dubee; six
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a
sister, Rose Signore.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 16 at St Margaret's Shrine,
Bridgeport. Interment was in St Michael's Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St Margaret's Shrine in her memory.
Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, was in charge of
arrangements.

Patricia A. Leavitt
Patricia A. Leavitt, 62, died July 11 at her home at 53 Taunton Lake Road,
Newtown.
She was the wife of Lawrence E. Leavitt.
Mrs Leavitt was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 24, 1936, daughter of William
J. McKeon of Glendale, N.Y., and Virginia D. Jackson D'Angelo of Newtown. She
was educated in Brooklyn and graduated form the Richmond Hills High School in
Queens, N.Y.
She came to Newtown 21 years ago and was a private duty companion and nurses
aide. She was a member of AARP and an avid gardener and bird watcher.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two daughters, Lisa L.
O'Brian of North Tarrytown, N.Y., and Kim L. Slater of Kent; a son, Herbert W.
Leavitt of Olympia, Wash.; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter;
three brothers, William McKeon of Forest Hills, N.Y., John McKeon of E.
Hanover, N.J., and Patrick McKeon of Hopewell Township, N.J.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.

The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury is in charge of
arrangements.
