To The Editor:

Many college students will be heading to school in the next couple of weeks and it’s not too early to make a plan to vote in this year’s election.

This week I was able to register to vote and request an absentee ballot through our Registrar of Voters office. It was easy and only took a few minutes.

To all who will not be in Newtown for election day on November 3, 2026 (or in Newtown for early voting), take the time to ensure you are registered and request your absentee ballot.

On the ballot will be: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, CT Secretary of State, CT Attorney General, CT Comptroller, CT Treasurer, US House District 5, CT State Rep District 106 /107, and CT Senate District 28.

Every vote matters!
