5th Annual CT Women

Entrepreneurs’ Day

Hartford — The Women’s Economic Development Initiative (WEDI), a project of the state legislature’s Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW), is sponsoring the 5th annual Connecticut Women’s Entrepreneurs’ Day on Friday, September 5, from 8:30 am to 2 pm at the State Capitol in Hartford. The theme for this year is “Be Connected!” The keynote speaker will be Lt Governor M. Jodi Rell. The cost is $25 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and conference materials.

Contributing partners and sponsors include the US Small Business Administration, Connecticut Department of Transportation, Sovereign Bank, US Department of Labor – Women’s Bureau, African-American Affairs Commission, Connecticut Department of Public Works, Entrepreneurial Center of the Hartford College for Women, University of Hartford, A Victorian Sentiment, Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program, SOS Technology Group, and the National Association of Women Business Owners – Connecticut Chapter.

The PCSW was established in 1973. The commission studies all matters concerning women, informs leaders about the nature and scope of discrimination, serves as a liaison between government and private interest groups concerned with services for women, promotes consideration of women for governmental positions, and works with state agencies to assess programs and practices as they affect women.
