New Treatment Options

For Vericose Veins

The Learning Center at Ashlar of Newtown begins the fall program schedule with a presentation by Dr George Stohr of Newtown’s Diagnostic Imaging Center on “Varicose Veins — New Treatment Options,” Tuesday, September 20.

Approximately 25 percent of all women and 15 percent of all men suffer from greater saphenous vein reflux, commonly known as varicose veins. The traditional surgical treatment for the condition was stripping and ligation, a solution many patients found very painful — and one that required up to six weeks of recovery time. Dr Stohr will present information on VenaCure Laser Venous System, a far simpler, minimally invasive treatment.

The public is invited to attend this seminar from noon to 1:30 pm at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown. Ashlar of Newtown’s Learning Center sponsors the Lunch and Learn series, which provides the public with health and wellness information presented by area specialists. In addition, a complimentary lunch is provided. There is no fee to attend; seating is limited however, and reservations are required to attend.

Reservations for the September 20 seminar can be made by calling Laura Vhay at 364-3127. Seating is in on a first-come, first-served basis.
