LZA Needs To Take Care Of Lake Zoar
To The Editor:
I want to make sure residents and readers are aware of the deplorable condition Lake Zoar is currently in.
In the 25 years I have lived on the lake, I have never seen the lake this bad! It is full of weeds, making swimming and even boating extremely difficult and even dangerous. The Lake Zoar Authority has elected to ignore their responsibility in taking care of the lake and as the Town of Newtown is the largest land owner on the lake, they need to step in immediately and force corrective measures to bring back the third largest lake in the state to its former pristine condition.
The next monthly meeting of LZA is this coming Tuesday, September 1, at 7 pm, at Southbury Town Hall. I urge all concerned to attend and put pressure on LZA to rectify their mishandling of the lake.
Sincerely,
Gary L. Fillion
Former 12-year LZA Commissioner and Chairman
