With the season winding down, Newtown Exxon has grasped firm control of first place in the Weeknite Slo-Pitch Softball League. Exxon sits atop the standings at 13-1 with CMC Concrete a full three games back and Fireside Inn a solid three-and-a-half games back.

In recent action, 17 was the lucky number for Exxon as it scored 17 runs in three of its five wins. Exxon posted a 17-10 victory over 100 Church Hill, a 17-12 victory over the Fireside Inn, a 17-5 win over My Place Restaurant, a 19-3 win over Cross Hill Sanitation and a 15-3 win over Americam.

Fireside Inn had the biggest offensive outburst, dropping 29 runs on Cross Hill Sanitation in a 29-11 win. The big slugfest was between 100 Church Hill and Stevenson Lumber, with Church Hill coming out on top of a 23-20 tally.
