Rocco F. Colavito, 84, of Sandy Hook, and previously of Katonah, N.Y., died peacefully August 29. He was born July 7, 1929, in the Bronx, N.Y.  Mr Colavito was the husband of the late Marilyn (Patrick) Colavito, who died in 1991, after 32 years of marriage.

Mr Colavito served in the Army, and later as a New York City Police Officer. 

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and taking trips to the Jersey Shore and Montauk.

His son Francis “Frank,” and his wife Karen; his daughter Valerie Fauver, and her husband Chris; and three cherished grandchildren, Christie Ann, Alex, and Aidan survive Mr Colavito.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 5, at 10 am, in St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Friends may call Wednesday, September 4, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
