The SPE Foundation Scholarship Program – The SPE Foundation is an affiliate of the Society of Plastics Engineers and offers numerous scholarships for students who have demonstrated or expressed an interest in the plastics industry. Financial need and good academic standing will be considered. The application must be returned by December 15, 2001.  More information is available in the scholarship file in the Career Center.

Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) – The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts provides the opportunity for 17 and 18 year old artists to qualify to be chosen to participate in the ARTS Week. This program is available to artists developing their careers in dance, jazz, film and video, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing. The students have the opportunity to earn cash awards up to $3,000 each. Also there are three $25,000 scholarships that _recognize and reward extraordinarily talented students. The 2001 Hispanic Heritage Celebration – The Connecticut National Guard, the United States Postal Service, the Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission, and the Connecticut Historical Society are sponsoring this scholarship. A student of Hispanic heritage between the ages of 10 and 18 with a high level of academics and an outstanding school attendance record will be awarded a $100 savings bond and an invitation and recognition during the annual Hispanic Celebration on October 10, 2001. This student must also be actively involved in school and community activities. Application must be received by September 28, 2001.
