A back-to-school picnic was held for Sandy Hook School students and family members during the evening on Thursday, August 28.

The event celebrated the start of the new school year just days before and offered an opportunity for school community members to mingle.

The event was held at Monroe’s Chalk Hill Middle School, where Sandy Hook School is housed, and by the start of the event, students were playing on the school’s playground while chairs, tents, and tables were being set up by parents.

A group of students gathered together for a photo at a back-to-school picnic held for Sandy Hook School students and family members.
After DJ Kevin Koschel (Music Man), who provided music for the event, released bubbles into the air, students began to chase and frolic through the released bubbles.
