TRUMBULL — The Rotary Club of Newtown will present The Jim Osborne Memorial Golf Classic at Tashua Knolls Golf Club on Monday, September 14. The event will feature a BBQ lunch, shotgun scramble followed by dinner and cocktails, along with a live auction and raffle.

Cost is $190 per golfer, or $760 per foursome.

Registration will open at 10:15 am at Tashua Knolls Golf Club & Restaurant. Players can use the practice range until 11:30, when lunch will be served. Scramble start will follow.

The Jim Osborne Memorial Golf Classic is the Newtown Rotary Club’s largest fundraiser. Raising more than $40,000 during the event’s 15-year history has allowed Rotary of Newtown to contribute to more than 20 local community based projects.

In addition, the club has helped clean up local river banks, landscape and maintains the grounds of its adopted Ability Beyond Disability Community Home, and designed and funded Rotary Park at Fairfield Hills. The club founded Newtown’s Labor Day Parade, and is known for the Pancake Breakfast presented at the beginning of each holiday season. It also sponsors the annual Businesses of the Year Awards in conjunction with Newtown Chamber of Commerce.
