To The Editor:

I support Michelle Ku for State Representative because she’s an extremely strong and experienced candidate. She was Chair of the Board of Education, and was elected to serve on the Board of Selectmen and the Legislative Council as well. She has been appointed to several State commissions. In contrast, her opponent has done little in the General Assembly.

As a member of the minority party, Bolinsky has had no seat at the table to have an impact on the important issues of our times. Even worse, when important issues have come up in bills, he failed to vote for the interests of the people of Newtown. He is against gun safety mandates like background checks that 70% of all gun owners support. He voted against 2026 HB 5043 that would have prohibited the manufacture and sale of convertible pistols. He has voted against protecting women’s reproductive rights. Michelle Ku would have supported all of this.

Unbelievably, Bolinsky even voted against the 2013 bonding package that contained the funding used for the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Senate Bill No. 842 (2013), Public Act 13-239.

Michelle Ku will not be an attention hog, spending all her time racing to photo ops to be in front of the camera as Mitch does, feigning interest and support while benefiting only himself. Michelle will be in the Hartford State House fighting for you!

I support Michelle Ku because she is sincerely concerned about kitchen issues, like food, gas, and the cost of living. Bolinsky has been silent while the MAGA administration gave tax cuts to billionaires at our expense. The administration's policies continue to strain our household budgets.

Vote with me for Michelle Ku on November 3. She gets it! She’s for You!
