Finally, at the end of the second half, the Rockets pushed aggressively up the field. To end the game, Alex Konneker put one in the back of the net off of a cross by Mary Anders.

ROCKETS 1, CHARLES RIVER 1: Newtown took a little time to find their rhythm.  Charles River was good at booting the ball downfield, but Newtown came right back. Mary Anders scored on a pass from Siobhan Cooper and a breakaway left. In the first five minutes of the second half, Charles River scored to tie it up. Newtown was able to push the action to their advantage and keep it there with some more opportunities on goal. The game ended in a tie. Elyssa Samsel played exceptional defense. Jill Tanner, and Vicky Thomas energized the midfield.

ROCKETS 2, OAKWOOD 0 (Semi-Finals): Mary Anders lifted the Rockets into the finals with two second half goals. Hard-charging Erin Clark spearheaded the Rocket’s intensity and aggressiveness. Newtown’s tenacity and cohesive team effort demonstrated for Oakwood the real definition of “premier”.

ROCKETS 1, CONNECTICUT JUNIOR WOLVES 0 (Final): Both the Wolves and the Rockets started off with fierce intensity. By the end of the first half the game was scoreless.
