Standing near her curated corner of the library, Marge Gingolaski reflected on August 30 that the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library’s Little Book Store offers books for affordable prices that are perfect for stocking up classroom libraries or for adding to a student’s personal collection.

Ms Gingolaski runs the Little Book Store for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library. She selects books to sell for the store from the donations offered to the group each year. While most of those donations are sold at the annual summer book sale, other books are selected to be sold at the annual Holiday Sale or in the Little Book Store.

The Little Book Store is situated near the main circulation desk at the library, located at 25 Main Street.

“The Little Book Store is the perfect place for teachers to come and get books for their classroom, and many of them do,” said Ms Gingolaski, noting that a number of the teachers come from other towns.

The books offered at the store are in “excellent condition,” she said. Prices range between $1 to $3, with most of the books sold for $1 or $2. Brand new children’s books are sold for $3.

Ms Gingolaski said the store sells both fiction and nonfiction books. She organizes the books by subject and broadly by grade levels. For instance, one section holds books for kindergarten to second grade students and another area has recommended books for students in seventh to twelfth grade.

All of the money from the sale of the Little Book Store books goes back to the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library to further support the library, Ms Gingolaski explained.

Books for adults can be more expensive than the books for children, but they are still offered at affordable prices. Ms Gingolaski said hardcover books can cost between $4 and $7, which are at the higher end of the store’s offerings. One area of the Little Book Store offers “sale” items. The Little Book Store also offers books for adults, DVDs, audiobooks, and more.

The Little Book Store’s selections rotate often, according to Ms Gingolaski, so people perusing one day may find something else by the following day or week.

“We get some gorgeous books,” said Ms Gingolaski.
