Benefactors Helped New Temple Become A Reality

To the Editor:

It is not often that one can witness history in the making, yet that is precisely what will happen on September 7, when Adath Israel finally opens the doors to its new building. This temple is the product of the dedication and hard work of numerous congregants and neighbors over many years. The list of those who have brought us to this moment is exhaustive. Our founding families donated land and funds. Our Boards and committees did planning and fundraising. Congregant and volunteer builder Kim Danziger spent the last three years bringing the building to completion. Most of those who have donated their time, money, and effort will also benefit from this beautiful new synagogue. And yet, there are some contributors in our business community who have gone virtually unnoticed, and most are not even members of this house of worship.

On behalf of Adath Israel, I would like to thank the following who have contributed their products and services so generously. Without them, we could not have built our beautiful building within our budget: Joe Dellaquila III, our site supervisor, Ray Martin, Larry Edwards, Bill Denlinger, Arthur Miller, Stock Building Supply, O&G Industries, Inc, Zemel’s TV & Appliance, Flooring America, Kamco Supply Corporation, Metro Roofing Supplies, Inc, Quality Building Products, Inc, Amber Lighting, Tile America, Daryl Zorn, Brouchard Paving, Mark Edwards, Tom Knecht, Anthony Passaro, Reggie Ouellette, Ken Burns, Bob Williams, Guy Fiore, Mike Provenzano, Pete Holmberg, Michael’s Painting, Ivaldo Barroso, Dave Patchal, and Frank Nero.

Maimonides, the great Hebrew scholar, said giving anonymously is the greatest form of charity. None of these donors have asked to be recognized, but we feel our Newtown community should be made aware of these gracious benefactors. They have our enduring gratitude for making this shul a possibility. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Eric Chanko,

Vice President

Chairman of Fundraising

Adath Israel
