To the Editor:

After the world’s hottest week this past July, UN Secy Gen Antonio Guterres declared: “Climate change is out of control. If we persist in delaying key measures that are needed, I think we are moving into a catastrophic situation.”

On September 20 he is sponsoring a “climate ambition summit” in an attempt to push the international community to cease approval of new fossil fuel projects, including those in the US where the Biden administration has greenlighted — among others — two huge gas and oil projects in Alaska and West Virginia.

On September 17 thousands will gather in New York City to show support for the UN summit. If you are concerned about our planet and our children’s future, please consider joining us and lending your support.
