To The Editor:

Most voters know Michelle Ku’s record serving Newtown. She has chaired the Board of Education (toughest elected position in local government), served on the Board of Selectmen, serves on Legislative Council, and has served at the State level. I can’t think of another more roundly qualified person to serve as Newtown’s State Representative.

Education — the Connecticut Education Association gives Mitch Bolinsky a 53% score for 2026, down from a 66.1% for 2023-2024. On any test a 53% is an F.

Women’s Rights and Health Provider Protection — Bolinsky opposed Public Act 22-19 — Reproductive Freedom Defense Act. This law 1) restricts the use of Connecticut courts, agencies and governmental resources to assist in another State’s attempt to impose civil or criminal liability on someone for providing, receiving, assisting with, or supporting reproductive health-care services that are lawful in Connecticut; 2) restricts Connecticut agencies from providing information or expend State resources to further another State’s investigation seeking civil or criminal liability for reproductive health care that is lawful in Connecticut; 3) creates a Connecticut cause of action for a person against whom an out-of-state judgment was entered based on providing, receiving, assisting with, or materially supporting reproductive health care permitted in Connecticut, and 4) protects reproductive health information. Mitch Bolinsky supports putting women and Connecticut healthcare providers at civil and criminal risk in other States for performing what is legal in Connecticut. That is not representation, it’s surrender! Michelle Ku is for You. Not Bolinsky.

If re-elected, Bolinsky will continue to kiss some babies, cut some ribbons, remain silent about Trump’s crimes, and continue doing nothing in Hartford because he has no place at the table. It’s time Newtown is heard!

Please vote on November 3, 2026.

Thank you.
