To The Editor:

This letter is in support of Rob Blanchard for State Senate 28th District.

I support Rob because he can work to get things done for Newtown. It is hard to imagine his MAGA party opponent, who does not support health care or social security, and does not acknowledge affordability problems, working for Newtowners. Rob will work for us in Hartford on the issues that are truly important to us.

He is a local dad who chose this community, and wants it to stay affordable and accessible for our seniors, for young families, and for small businesses. Rob and his wife chose to raise their son here because of the strong schools and strong sense of community, but he sees families around him wondering if they can afford to stay here. He's not talking about affordability in the abstract; as a young parent in the district, he's living it!

The district has been represented by the same party for roughly 50 years, and voters have been underserved and underrepresented. This is a time for real representation. Families deserve someone actively fighting in Hartford for infrastructure funding, municipal aid, and capital investment in our towns. Rob, backed by his relationships with legislators, business leaders, and nonprofits, will actually get things done from day one.

As a senior I understand that affordability is important and that inflation impacts the elderly. I am sure that he understands the impact of spending in Hartford on our citizens. He will support the Lamont team for a better Connecticut.

Please join me in voting for Rob Blanchard on November 3.
