Nancy K. Crevier will present a reading and book signing of her second book of poetry, Pieces of the World and other poems, at 2 pm Thursday, September 21, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.

The reading is open to the public free of charge, but reservations are requested and available by calling the senior center at 203-270-4310.

While copies of Pieces of the World and other poems will not be available for purchase that day, the book can be purchased at Queen Street Gifts, 3 Queen Street; at Art & Frame of Newtown, 77 Main Street; or online through amazon.com.

The C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, will also host Crevier for a book reading and signing, on Thursday, October 19. That program will be in the Gathering Room, just off the main entrance, and will begin at 7 pm.

Books will be available for purchase at the library event if not purchased earlier at Queen Street Gifts, Art & Frame, or at Amazon.

Registration for this event is also requested, and available by calling 203-426-4533 or visiting chboothlibrary.org.

Pieces of the World captures in verse what is seen, heard, and felt in the inner and outer world, and provides a place for readers to insert themselves in an easy manner. These are poems that invite wonder; that invite wondering with words and images that, piece by piece, pull together a sense of being in this lifetime.

Crevier published The Peach Quartet and Other Poems in 2022.

Retired Newtown Bee editor and published poet Nancy K. Crevier has two local events scheduled to coincide with the publication of her second collection of original work.
