Newtown Youth Basketball registration for the 2015-16 season is underway, and open through October 15, but $25 a late fee will be assessed after September 30. Registration is limited and on a first come, first served basis; no changes made to rosters once set. Age division information is as follows:

Biddy Basketball Grades PreK & K. This is an instructional division with focus on basic skills; fee: $120. Ten sessions starting Saturday, December 5.

First and Second Grade Division. Fee: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys. This is a continuation of the instructional division along with introduction to game play. Weekly clinics at same time and place each week (rotating skill stations). Games (3 on 3) are on Saturdays starting December 5 and will run for ten sessions.

Third and Fourth Grade Division. Fee: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys. In-house league games, Saturdays starting December 5. Players must attend an evaluation; dates and times available during registration.

Intermediate Grade Division Grades 5 & 6. Fee: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys (girls leagues play together) In-house league games, Saturdays starting December 5. Players must attend an evaluation; dates and times available during registration.

Junior Division Grades 7 & 8 (grades play together). Fee: $150. Separate leagues for girls and boys. In-house league games, Saturdays starting December 5. Players must attend an evaluation; dates and times available during registration.

Senior Division Grades 9-12. Fee: $175. Separate leagues for boys and girls. Games start in December and will be played on weeknights. Team captains (seniors) contact teammates prior.

Travel Leagues: Fee: $150 plus an additional $295 if a player makes a travel team. Games are most Saturdays and Sundays. Travel Divisions: Girls: Fifth through Eighth Grade. Boys: Fifth through Eighth Grade. Use appropriate in-house program code when registering; check Y under “Trying out for Travel.” Players must attend both tryouts and candidates must register prior to first tryout date.

NYBA Refund Policy: Full refunds are available on requests that are submitted prior to the date of the first scheduled game. There is a $25 administrative charge back. Partial refunds are available on requests received on or after the date of the first scheduled game. The refund amount is 50 percent of the amount paid including administrative fee. NYBA Family Plan pricing: Fee must be paid at time of registration. Registration fee for third youngest child and each additional younger sibling is $40 off. Example: A family has 1 Junior, 1 Intermediate and 1 Third Grader; the cost would be $410 (150 + 150 + 110). Families needing assistance will have their fees reduced or waived by contacting the NYBA treasurer.
