Garden Club of Newtown invites local readers to “Color Your Garden — Flowering Bulbs for Every Season.”

The season-opening program for the local garden club will be presented Tuesday, September 22, at 1 pm, in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Meeting Room at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

Presenter Christine Darnell is the owner of Christine Darnell Gardens in Lyme.

Using her artist’s eye towards color and texture, Darnell designs plant combinations from the beginning of the design process to the completion of the landscape plan. She will show a gallery of her work to illustrate her approach to garden design.

There is no charge to attend the program, and reservations are not needed.
