The annual C.H. Booth Library Turkey Trot 5K Road Race will be a virtual event that will take place over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, November 26-29.

Registration for the race, which helps raise essential funds for the library to provide services the community expects, is at turkeytrot.com.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, for this year’s Turkey Trot, each participant can run on their own, on a 5k course of their choosing. Additionally, runners can complete their course at any time over the Thanksgiving weekend, and time themselves. Results may be submitted individually on the race website.

The Turkey Trot will provide an opportunity for the community to connect through the race website, Facebook page, and a virtual live event Thanksgiving morning.

Will you prepare and train for the Turkey Trot? What inspires and motivates you? Will you run with family and friends? What course will you follow? Let Newtown know by posting your photos, videos, and comments.

“The Turkey Trot has been a Newtown holiday tradition for more than a decade and an occasion for family and neighbors to come together,” Newtown Turkey Trot Race Director Tom Long said. “This year the race holds greater importance to raise essential funds for the library as other fundraising opportunities have been canceled. We look forward to seeing people come out, share their experiences, and support the library.”

Those interested in a sponsorship are asked to e-mail turkeytrot@chboothlibrary.org or call 203-313-5507.
