Who Is For You?
To The Editor:
This November, Newtown voters have an important decision to make about who will represent us in Hartford.
My suggestion is simple: Don't begin with a political party. Begin with a question.
Who is for you?
Who reflects your values? Who understands your community? Who will listen to you? Who has the experience, energy, and ability to work with others to make Newtown's voice heard?
Elections give us an opportunity not only to look at where we've been, but also to decide where we want to go. We should consider experience and records, but we should also consider new ideas, different perspectives, and the ability to bring people together.
Most importantly, please vote. Don't let someone else make the decision for you.
Learn about the candidates. Decide what matters to you. Vote for the person who reflects your values.
And when you cast your ballot, ask yourself one final question:
Who is for you?
