Columbus Day Weekend Book Sale

WASHINGTON — Gunn Memorial Library will hold its annual book sale on Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8.

On Saturday, doors will open for the preview from 9 to 10 am at a cost of $15. From 8 am on, earlybirds may purchase entry numbers for the 9 am opening. Admission from 10 am to 4 pm is free.

On Sunday, the sale will continue from 11 am to 3 pm with prices half-off on most items.

Thousands of donated books including art, rare books, local interest, fiction, biography, children’s, cooking, gardening, travel, sports, history, mathematics, nature, photography and reference, videos and books-on-tape will be n sale. This year’s selection will also include books signed by Tennessee Williams, Eric Sloane, Willa Cather, Robert Anderson, William Inge, William Kinsolving, Richard Wilbur, Ira Levin and William Buckley, Jr. There are also some interesting first editions, including several Hemingways.
