A Golden Anniversary

Margaret and David Clark of Walnut Tree Hill Road, Sandy Hook, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, September 19.

Margaret and David were married September 19, 1959, in St Paul’s Church in Hounslow, Middlesex, England, by the Vicars Stubbs and Hollaway. The best man was David’s brother, Alan, and the bridesmaid was Margaret’s sister, Frances.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of white figured satin. Her sister wore a lemon colored dress of eyelet lace. Magaret’s mother made the dresses for the bride and the bridesmaid.

The family moved to Connecticut in 1975, when David’s job with Perkin-Elmer moved to the PE facility in Norwalk.

The Clarks have two sons, Nick, who is married to Debbie and lives in Sherman with their children Tyler and Hannah; and Chris, who is married to Diane and lives in Bridgewater.

A dinner party at Mona Lisa was organized by the couple’s sons and their families. A group gift for a stay at The Cranberry Inn in Chatham was presented to the Clarks.
