Newtown High School's girls' swimming and diving team defeated visiting New Milford 85-63 on September 29. Newtown won first in seven of the first nine events before sealing the team win and exhibitioning the final three races.

"The girls swam really well today. They continue to improve, challenge themselves, and work together as a team. We had a lot of best times today and we can see the work the girls are putting in during practice is starting to pay off," Coach Lisa Irving said.
