Coryell Gallery's Fall Exhibition Features Three Artists

(with 1 cut)

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. -- The Coryell Gallery is pleased to present the Annual

Fall Exhibition featuring three artists, Albert L. Bross, Jr, Harriet

Ermentrout and introducing Mike Filipiak to the show, to be held from October

3 through November 14. The public is invited to the opening reception to meet

the artists on Sunday, October 3, 3 to 6 pm.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Bross taught painting for over 20 years in

Central New Jersey while lecturing extensively in the tri-state area. In

addition to exhibiting paintings, drawings and graphics in group, regional and

national exhibitions, he has held over 100 one-man shows throughout the East.

His paintings are worked directly from nature and range from the New England

coast to swamps, lowlands and rugged mountains, all encompassing his vision of

natural phenomena. His pattern of light and impression of atmosphere adds

another dimension to the human experience.

Ermentrout, of Newtown, Penn., carries a sketchbook, pens and watercolors

wherever she goes, to the rugged coast of Maine, rural Bucks County, Victorian

Cape May, or the English Gardens of the Virgin Islands.

At Moore Institute she began her career in interior design which led to her

interest in antiques and art history. Later she studied watercolor with Roy

Nuse, Ed Whitney, John Pike and other artists of renown. Her work is in

private collections and the permanent collections of Foulkeways and the

College of Opthamology in Philadelphia.

Filipiak, who resides in Clinton Township, N.J., is mounting pastel paintings

for his first show in the gallery. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he graduated

Magna Cum Laude from Waynesburg College in western Pennsylvania, majoring in

fine art and history.

His great interest is in the effects of light through the trees and at sunset.

In recent years, his pastels have been in juried shows including at the

Hunterdon Museum of Art, Phillips Mill and Lambertville Historical Society

exhibits at Coryell Gallery.

The Coryell Gallery at the Porkyard is located at 8 Coryell St. Hours are

Wednesday through Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm. Telephone 609/397-0804.
