To the Editor:

I would like to endorse Mitch Bolinsky for a fifth term in the state legislature representing the 106th District. Over the last four terms Mitch has served Newtown with a bipartisan approach truly serving the people of Newtown.

As a Republican leader in the legislature, Mitch has served on the education committee, aging committee, the IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) caucus, the School Safety caucus, the Animal Rights caucus, and advocate for first responders.

Mitch has proven himself dedicated to all Newtown residents and some from neighboring towns. Mitch’s accomplishments include:

*Collaborated to deliver two straight No Tax Increase Budgets that have positioned our state to now have more than $3 billion budget reserves.

*Championing the landmark CARE Act for seniors in Connecticut.

*Serving as an active advocate for children and adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities, and for the early diagnosis of dyslexia.

*Repeatedly preserved Newtown’s historic Horse Guard.

*Securing millions of dollars in state grants for school safety, infrastructure, and local construction projects including Sandy Hook Streetscape, Hawleyville sewers, and Fairfield Hills Streetscape.

Mitch is a responsive, caring, highly effective advocate for the people of the Newtown (106th District). During his first four terms Mitch served with integrity. I am looking forward to his fifth term.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Edwards

79 Mile Hill South, Newtown October 7, 2020
