To the Editor:

I have been a resident of Newtown for the past 23 years and have always supported the best candidate regardless of their party affiliation. Over the past several years, my volunteer work on several Newtown organizations/committees has been shared with several outstanding current candidates, including Deb Zukowski (Board of Education), Ned Simpson (Board of Finance), and Dr Neil Chaudhary (Police Commission).

Deb wants to examine how our school tax dollars are spent and verify that money is well spent to provide the best possible eduction for our Newtown students. Ned promises to apply skills and expertise from a career that was all about improving operations, reducing costs, increasing quality, and driving innovation/change. Neil will leverage expertise as one of the nation’s leading traffic safety scientists to provide facts-driven information to the Commission and Police Department.

These candidates share many positive qualities, which include organization skills, data driven, reason based, professional experience, hardworking, outreach to the less fortunate, listening to all points of view, and a bias towards active living.

Thank you in advance for your vote for Deb, Ned, and Neil to help support making Newtown a more livable community and to improve the quality of life for all our families.
