To the Editor:

It makes sense to reelect Joan Plouffe to the Police Commission. Who better to understand policy-making, to be in a position of evaluating law-and-order, and to ensure the safety of Newtown’s residents, young and old? Someone who has already practiced law, someone who continues to work in a profession of managing people, and someone who has been a stellar representative of community service in the town where she has resided for 23 years and raised two wonderful children. This someone’s name is Joan Plouffe.

PTA boards, Strategic Planning Committee for Newtown Schools, Commission on Aging, Charter Revision Commission, and more. Wow! It is the Democratic Town Committee where I have come to know and respect Joan, on which she serves as vice-chairman and also chairs the Campaign and Candidates Committees. I am proud to call her my friend.

If you want something done, ask a busy person. Please vote for Joan Plouffe for Police Commissioner on November 5.
